PackExpo 2021 (Sept 27th-29th)

This 2021 Fall semester, I had the opportunity to attend PackExpo 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada alongside seven undergraduates, three graduates, and our two professors, Dr. Molina and Dr. Kim. It was an amazing experienced hosted by PMMI and sponsored by Emerson where packaging companies came to present their latest technologies, machineries, packaging engineering, and services.

 

Our Virginia Tech Packaging booth showcased what our major and program has to offer and the capabilities of our students once we graduate into the industry.

 

We also participated in the Amazing Packaging Race where we were split into teams among the different packaging schools and ran around to different companies learning about what they had to offer to compete for prize money. I had the opportunity to collaborate with two students from MSU and one student from Cal-Poly.  Although I wasn't one of the groups that won, I'm proud to say that three of our packaging students made it into the top three. PackExpo 2021 was an unforgettable and valuable experience of learning, networking, and innovation.
